Brief
Chime is Ireland’s national charity supporting people who are deaf and hard of hearing. Their mission is to champion access, inclusion, and equality by providing vital audiology services, information, and community support. With centres across the country, they create welcoming spaces where clients can access hearing tests, assistive technologies, and expert advice in a supportive environment.
Chime approached us through the E-Tenders process. Following several months of consultation with Barney, we were delighted to be appointed for the job. As a charity, Chime required us to work within a very strict budget, ensuring maximum value while delivering a high-quality finish.
Client: Chime
Sector: Charity

Design
The key requirements were clear: a large boardroom, a sound-proof booth in the audiology room, two private offices, and an additional wheelchair-accessible WC.
Chime also needed a custom-built display unit at reception to showcase their range of hearing aids, as well as a bespoke reception desk crafted by a local Irish company. Accessibility, comfort, and a professional yet welcoming atmosphere were at the heart of the design vision.

What we delivered
Partitioning and glazing to create defined, functional spaces
Installation of a sound-proof audiology booth
Custom joinery for the display unit and reception desk
Complete furniture package – from workstations and ergonomic seating to boardroom furniture, canteen tables and chairs, storage, and breakout pieces
All-new electrics, lighting, and power to modernise the environment
New air-conditioning units for comfort
A kitchen in the canteen and a kitchenette in the audiology room
A wheelchair-accessible WC
Fresh paintwork on the building’s frontage to revitalise the entrance

Outcome
The completed fit-out transformed the space into a bright, modern, and accessible centre that now reflects Chime’s mission. Staff benefit from well-equipped offices, a functional boardroom, and improved facilities, while clients are welcomed into a professional reception area that highlights Chime’s assistive technologies. The result is a space that is not only practical and efficient but also warm and inclusive—supporting Chime in delivering vital services to the community.
