Brief
Egis approached us following a referral from a previous successful project. With rapid business growth and an expanding workforce, they faced a clear challenge: increasing the number of workstations within their existing ground floor open-plan office without compromising comfort, flow, or atmosphere. Alongside this practical need, they were eager for a complete transformation of their office environment — one that would feel modern, spacious, and welcoming, while also supporting productivity and collaboration.
Given the scale of the project, works were strategically divided into two distinct phases, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.
Sustainability Focus
Sustainability was a core priority for the client. Most of the existing furniture was recycled or repurposed, even down to the carpet tiles. This required careful planning and persistence but significantly reduced waste and environmental impact.
What we delivered
We developed a holistic fit-out solution that balanced space optimisation, aesthetics, and functionality. Key elements of the project included:
- New Open-Plan Layouts (Phases 1 & 2): Reconfigured workstation arrangements to maximise capacity while retaining a sense of openness and natural flow.
- Boardroom & Meeting Room: Purpose-designed for both collaborative internal sessions and professional client-facing meetings, with integrated AV solutions.
- Canteen Area: A dedicated break-out zone offering staff a welcoming, comfortable environment for downtime and informal conversations.
- Quiet Meeting Pods: Semi-enclosed acoustic pods providing private spaces for focused work, one-to-ones, or small team huddles.
- HR Office: Constructed with glass partitioning to maintain visibility and connection while ensuring confidentiality and discretion.
- Reception Area: Featuring a bespoke reception desk, soft seating, and branded manifestation bands on glazing, creating a polished, professional, and instantly welcoming first impression.
- Refreshed Interiors: Comprehensive repainting and re-carpeting throughout, giving the entire office a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Outcome
The completed project has transformed the workplace into a bright, modern, and adaptable environment, successfully accommodating 107 additional workstations without any sense of overcrowding. The space now offers:
- A balance of collaborative and private work areas,
- A strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and comfort,
- And a forward-looking design that reflects the client’s identity and commitment to sustainability.
Most importantly, the project was carried out in close partnership with the client team, whose collaborative approach, sustainability focus, and positive engagement made the process both productive and enjoyable.
The result is a workplace that not only meets the practical demands of a growing workforce but also reinforces the client’s vision of a progressive, responsible, and people-focused organisation.
